This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Scripture reference: Philippians 2:13 (ESV)

Transcription:

Today I am thinking about when you’re unsure of where your good deed will lead.

When I turn to the Scriptures, I’m reminded of the good deed Esther’s cousin Mordecai did on behalf of the king. One day, Mordecai overheard two eunuchs plotting the assassination of the king. He told Queen Esther of their plot, and she passed the information along to the king.

The king did an extensive investigation and found that what Mordecai had said was true; there really was a plot on his life. Esther told the king that Mordecai was the one responsible for uncovering the assassination plot, yet Mordecai’s good deed was not acknowledged at the time.

Oddly enough, shortly thereafter there was a plot to have Mordecai killed. Yet as God would have it, the night before Mordecai was to be executed, the king realized that he had still not done anything for Mordecai, who had saved his life. So, Mordecai’s good deed was not only rewarded, but it was rewarded at the most appropriate time.

Sometimes, we do a good deed and don’t see a return, but we need to remember that God always sees what we do and that our good deeds bring us even closer to Him. As you think about how God is working through you and in your life, hold onto these words: “…for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 (ESV)

Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.

So today, remember where your good deed leads.
