This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Deuteronomy 20:4 (NLT)
Today, I am reminding myself about how great victories are achieved.
As it is Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, many people will be celebrating his achievements. Even though he was an integral part of the Civil Rights Movement in this country, he also encountered his fair share of struggles and setbacks before he experienced his great victories–specifically the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965.
Over time, I have learned that the victories that both define and drive us are the ones that God allows to be born out of struggles and imperfect conditions.
However, it was not so long ago that I believed the exact opposite. In other words, I was convinced that my circumstances needed to change before I could experience a great victory.
Because of that, I would often pray to God to improve my circumstances, thinking that an achievement would follow. On more than one occasion though, I sensed He answered that I would meet my place of triumph, but that it would be under adverse conditions. Achieving a victory under imperfect conditions should remind us that we are not going through life alone.
The words that I use to inspire me are: “For the Lord your God is going with you, He will fight for you, and He will give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4 (NLT)

So today, reach for your victory despite your circumstances and know that God is already fighting with you.
