Today, I am reminding you that Jesus knows your heart.
Remembering this truth can be especially helpful during the Lent Season as we make sacrifices to be in a deeper communion with God, and sometimes we fall short. Be inspired because He knows your heart is true.
When I need to be inspired about how well Jesus knows my heart, I refer to the parable of the widow. As Jesus spent time in the temple, he watched people place offering after offering into the collection plate. While he sat there, many rich people threw down large sums of money.
Then, a poor widow put in two small copper coins that were worth only a few cents. Jesus immediately knew the pure intentions of her heart.
So, if you’re on a journey this Lent season to be in deeper communion with God, but you feel as though sometimes you fall short, be warmly reminded that God sees your actions and knows your heart.
As you think about that, hold onto these words: “…For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 (ESV)
