He Knows Your Heart

Today, I am sending a gentle reminder your way: Jesus knows your heart.

Recently, we talked about what it can feel like when you believe you have fallen short. My gentle reminder to you today is that – God knows your heart.  Above anyone else, He knows your intentions.

When I need to be inspired about how well Jesus knows my heart, I turn to the Scriptures and refer to the parable of the widow.  We know that Jesus spent some time sitting in the temple, watching people place offering after offering into that collection plate. 

While he sat there, many rich people threw down large sums of money.

Then, a poor widow put in two small copper coins that were worth only a few cents. Jesus immediately knew the heart of the widow; he knew the pure intentions of her heart as she dropped just two coins in that plate. 

He immediately turned to his disciples and made them aware of what she had just done.

If you’re on a journey to be in deeper communion with God, but you feel as though sometimes you fall short, be warmly reminded that God sees your actions and knows your heart.

As you think about that, hold onto these words:

“…For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 (ESV)
