Scripture reference: John 15:16

The word “enough” carries so much weight. At times, we fear we are not enough—smart enough, accomplished enough, or prepared enough to meet the call on our lives. We delay pursuing the desires of our hearts, waiting to achieve “one more thing” to prove our worth. We assume that God won’t choose us for His purpose until we become enough in our own eyes.
When I’ve been in this place of doubt, I reflect on the Samaritan woman who met Jesus at the well. As a five-time divorcee, He still chose her. Though she lived with a man and bore the label of an immoral woman, He still chose her. Even as a Samaritan, disdained by both Jews and Gentiles, He still chose her. As she was often nourished by the water from Jacob’s well, she regarded Jacob as the great one and did not realize that Jesus stood far greater than Jacob. Yet, despite her limited understanding, Jesus chose her to reveal Himself as the Messiah—and through her, an entire town came to Christ.
The way we see ourselves and the way Christ sees us are so different. In the same way He chose her, He is choosing you and me today—not because of what we’ve done but because of who He is. Trust His call and embrace your divine path.
As you think about that, remember these words: “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” John 15:16
