Transcription:
You don’t have to go searching for God’s blessings; they will find you.
I am reminded of the story of Naomi and Ruth. Naomi lost her husband and two sons, and feeling abandoned by God, she decided to return to her hometown.
Even though her daughter-in-law, Ruth, would be leaving her home, friends, and family, she did not want Naomi to return home alone, so she accompanied her. Little did Ruth know that God would have Boaz waiting for her.
Ruth worked in the fields one day, and Boaz offered her food and water. He was so moved by the love and kindness she had shown Naomi.
Ultimately, Ruth and Boaz married and had a son, and Ruth would become the great-grandmother to King David, which put her in the lineage of Christ. Look at all the goodness God had awaiting Ruth—goodness she didn’t have to go in search of, but goodness that found her.
As you think about that, remember these words: “May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!” Psalm 20:4 (ESV)
