This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want to know, how are your farming skills?
Sometimes when you have an important message to share, there’s no better way to do so than by conveying your message in a story. As we know, Jesus was the best storyteller as he often taught using parables.
Parables are analogies used to communicate truth to teach a spiritual lesson. Jesus used parables to reveal the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven to his disciples, while keeping others who resisted God’s word blind to this truth.
One of my favorite parables is the parable of the sower, the farmer who planted seeds. In the story, Jesus gives analogies of the different types of seeds.
Some seeds fell on the hard path, which means that the enemy may snatch the understanding of God’s word before a person’s heart can even embrace it. Some seeds fell on the shallow part of the soil, which means some hear God’s word but struggle to act on it with any depth.
Other seeds fell on the thorny ground, where God’s word is soon crowded out by the other cares of this life. Finally, some seeds fell on good soil, which represents those who embrace the word and produce a huge harvest from it.
As you have been chosen by God and have regular access to God’s word, are you producing a harvest? If you’re like me, you may go back and forth between being on that thorny ground and the good soil. If that is the case, remember these words: “…walk in a manner worthy of the Lord…bearing fruit in every good work…” Colossians 1:10 (ESV)
