Scripture references: Isaiah 60:1 (ESV)
Peter’s story reminds us that boldness doesn’t begin with human confidence – it begins with the Holy Spirit.
Peter wasn’t a scholar or a man of status. Yet when he healed the man who had been lame for 40 years, crowds gathered in amazement. And when the high court demanded to know how he did it, Peter stood there — filled with the Holy Spirit — speaking with a confidence they couldn’t explain.
Scripture says they saw him as “uneducated” and “common,” yet they marveled at his boldness. They couldn’t understand how someone like him could be so courageous.
But Peter knew the truth: true boldness doesn’t come from credentials. It comes from the Holy Spirit at work within you.
So when that negative voice whispers you lack this or you lack that, step toward what God is calling you to do anyway and remember these words —
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1 (ESV)
