My dear friend, what a powerful message. Like you, I have always thought of forgiveness as being something I do to make myself lighter in life, but not something I could to help another person transform and add to what’s life-giving on the planet versus what holds us in darkness. Like Mary M, when we sin, we are are doing so from a place of disconnection with God and our best selves. We are possessed by ‘demons’ (unhealed grief, fear, shame, abuse, etc) and acting from shadow rather than light. Forgiveness allows healing, which enables transformation, and adds to the energy that makes the world a better place. I am grateful for your perspective on this, and will be thinking more about the power of forgiveness for more than just myself. Thank you!!
