This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Luke 1:37 (ESV)
Today I am reminding you of three key words: in His strength.
Tomorrow is the first day of spring, but you may have missed that fact as you’ve likely been inundated with the news and around-the-clock coverage on the coronavirus. Today I am encouraging you that we will get to the other side of this pandemic—but in His strength.
Because I live in Chicago, I am always so grateful to see the first day of spring. While it likely means a favorable change in the weather, it also represents new beginnings for me.
During the spring, I have newfound energy to pursue the things that are on my heart, but I have no earthly idea how I will make things happen. Nevertheless, I keep my expectations high and know that whatever I am embarking on, I will achieve it in God’s strength.
The same must have been true for Mary and Elizabeth, two expectant mothers who knew they were accomplishing something great and purposeful—but only in God’s strength. Elizabeth, who was carrying John the Baptist, had been barren her entire life, and Mary said that God took notice of a lowly servant girl.
Wherever your heart is today, whether it’s taking on something new and purposeful in God’s strength or if it’s just getting through this pandemic, recognize today that it will all happen in God’s strength.
