This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Matthew 5:9 (ESV)
Reflecting on the tragic events and loss over the last week in our country, I was warmly reminded of the prayer by St. Francis of Assisi. It personally helps me to get out of myself. It not only comforted me, but it helped me to re-prioritize my actions as a follower of Christ.
In the words of St. Francis:
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.” Matthew 5:9 (ESV)
