This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am encouraging you to move on from what you’ve outgrown.
There are times we may stay in a place longer than it was intended for us because we fear taking that first step. Yet today I want you to know that when you take that first step, you don’t need to have all the answers. God is not expecting you to do it perfectly. He is, however, expecting you to trust Him and to know that He is working right alongside you.
It’s usually when we doubt ourselves that we stop challenging ourselves. This reminds me of a remark Steve Pemberton, the author of A Chance in the World, made a few years ago at his Chicago book signing. Steve had an incredibly difficult childhood. His mother was an alcoholic, and he was raised in an abusive foster home.
After hearing his heartbreaking tale, someone in the audience asked Steve if there was anything about his life that he would change. He said his only regret in life was staying too long in a place where he had stopped learning and stopped growing.
His remarks grabbed my attention. Sometimes we can become nestled in a place that we’ve already mastered, which means we’re no longer being challenged. It’s those places that challenge you that prompt you to turn to God more often for strength and direction.
