This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today we’re starting a new series on God’s timing. I want you to know that even when you can’t see them, your blessings were put into motion long ago.
Recently I was flipping through my journal pages and came across an entry where I was, in a sense, pouting before God. After what felt like a string of unanswered prayers, I was going on and on about how I hadn’t been seeing God’s hand on my life like before. Imagine that!
Because my journal entries have dates on them, I later learned that on the very day I was writing in my journal, venting my frustrations, the answer to my prayer was already in motion. Even though I saw no sign of my prayer being answered, God had already put things in motion long before I sat down to write in my journal.
God did the same thing for Joseph, who had been in prison for twelve years for a crime he didn’t commit. While Joseph was trying his very best to secure his freedom, God was behind the scenes putting blessing after blessing in motion for him. Joseph would not only regain his freedom, but he would be reunited with his family and become the second in charge of all of Egypt.
Sometimes when we experience a blessing from God, we think about it when we receive it, in the here and now. We miss the fact that the blessing we experience today was, in fact, put into motion long ago.
As you think about that, remember these words: “Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways.” Isaiah 45:15 (NLT)
