This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Today, I am thinking about the importance of my daily prayer time. Lately, I have had this wave of work coming before me. It feels like I’m being hit from all angles. I am typically an early riser, but this wave of new work is causing me to have very late nights which makes it very difficult to rise early. When this happens, I’m taken off of my daily routine.
I’ve noticed over the past week that I’ve been missing my worship time. This is the time in the morning that I dedicate to my prayers and studying the Scriptures. However, instead of rising early I’ve been sleeping in as long as I can due to my late nights. This has been impacting my spirit in several ways. I’m less tolerant. I’m more impatient, and experiencing anxiety more. As the Scriptures say – “…the peace that guards my heart,” I’m just not feeling that.
I once heard a pastor say, “There are three A’s associated with the power of prayer. The first A is prayer gives you the Authority over the voices of this world. Second, it gives you an Assurance of your plan and purpose. Third, it gives you an Anointing required to make a difference.”
I have been missing my prayer time, and I’m noticing a difference in these areas. The Words that teach me are simply, “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Tomorrow, let’s talk about serving a sovereign God. Please share this reflection with others and support each other towards a fuller, more peaceful life.
And today, if you cut something out of your daily routine, don’t touch your prayer time.
