 Scripture reference: Isaiah 55:9 (NIV)

Transcription:

When you confine God’s blessings to your understanding, you can be caught off guard when His blessings come from a different source.

Consider when the prophet Elijah started on his journey during a severe drought. God told him to drink from the Kerith Brook and commanded the ravens to feed him. Eventually, the brook dried up, and the ravens no longer had food.

Here’s the point — Elijah didn’t question God when the brook dried up.  Instead, he kept his faith when God sent him to meet a widow, who became his new source of food and water. Ravens in the air and a widow look quite different. That’s because God’s blessings come in many shapes and sizes.

Sometimes, we can miss our blessings when we look for them in one form, and they come in another.

The next time God’s actions feel like a Jedi mind trick, remember these words: “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways.” Isaiah 55:9 (NIV)

This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
