This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Ephesians 3:20 (ESV)
Today I am reflecting on Jesus’ process for acquiring more.
Take, for example, when Jesus fed 5,000 people with only two fish and five loaves of bread. If we look at the Scriptures closely, we see that there were three steps that Jesus followed before realizing his miracle of more.
First, the Scriptures say that he looked up toward heaven. This means he acknowledged God, and invited Him into his process. In other words, Jesus knew that he couldn’t embark on something significant without bringing God into his situation.
This is sometimes easier said than done, though. There may be times when we are thrust into a situation where the stakes are high, and we need to respond on the spot. This may cause us to become overwhelmed by the circumstance itself and unconsciously forget to seek God first.
The second thing that Jesus did when he fed the 5,000 was he gave thanks for what he had. Sometimes, all we can see is ourselves realizing more, and we forget to give thanks for the little we currently have.
Finally, Jesus asked for God’s blessing. It was God’s intent to bless Jesus with abundance at that point in time, but sometimes it’s God’s intent to bless us at a later date. Therefore, we must always seek His blessing, whatever we ask.
The next time we’re desiring more, let us remember these words: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, be inspired to follow Jesus’ process for acquiring more.
So nice I listened TWICE! Love this reminder and steps to acquiring more! #butGod #abundance
Thanks for always sharing! There are examples all throughout the Bible about how God blessed abundantly — we must get in the practice of expecting it more.
