This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Matthew 25:40 (ESV)
Today, I have been thinking about how Jesus is right here among us.
Recently, I talked about how one of the synagogue leaders approached Jesus in a crowd, desperately asking Jesus to quickly come back to his home because his young daughter was dying.
However, Jesus was delayed in getting to the man’s home because a young woman, who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years, touched the fringe of His robe. When she did so, He felt His healing power leave Him. The woman had thought that if she could only touch His clothing, that would be enough to heal her. It turned out that she was right.
When I read this passage, I really wished that we were living in the days when Jesus just walked down the street, and everyone had the chance to touch Him–or even just His garments. Thinking about it more deeply though, I concluded that He is, in a sense, among us every day.
He is the homeless man sleeping under an expressway, trying to keep warm.
He is the young, battered woman who just found the courage to leave and needs a few more words of encouragement.
If you’re like me and need to be reminded that Jesus is right here among us, cling to these words, “As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, take a moment to see Jesus in the face of another, and touch Him by touching them.
Thank God for the hem of HIS garment… HIS words, HIS lessons, HIS love, HIS grace and HIS healing power…. daily! bless you my sister! Angelique Francis
Yes, let’s thank Him and the 2 ways we do that best is first through our worship and, second, by how we care for the least of those amongs us. Thanks for sharing!
