This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Romans 2:6 (ESV)
Today, I am asking myself the question, “Is my life a good example?”
I had this thought after receiving the nicest email about a B Moment I published a few weeks ago. This note was very thoughtfully written; in fact, it was the kind of note that warms your heart so much that you’ll probably read it over and over again, especially when you have a bad day.
However, there was one part of the note in particular that really caught my attention. The listener said, “When we die and go home to our heavenly Father, what we leave our ancestors and future generations is one thing and one thing only: our example.” I thought that was a beautiful, powerful sentiment.
When I looked to the Scriptures, I can’t help but recall Peter’s life. We know for sure that Peter didn’t always set a good example. Yet the key is, he kept striving to be one.
Earlier in his life, he didn’t have the faith to walk on water—even in the presence of Christ. However, in Acts chapter 9, he was able to bring Tabitha back to life. Furthermore, we know that Peter denied Christ, but we also see that despite his transgressions, he was able to come full circle in his faith because he kept striving to be that better example.
What inspires me is simply clinging to these few words: “He will render to each one according to his works.” Romans 2:6 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today’s question is, “Are you striving to make your life an example for generations to come?”
