Scripture reference: Proverbs 3:15

Some forms of love are so natural, so pure, that they require no hesitation. A mother’s love is one of them. It is not calculated, debated, or conditional—it simply is.

But the beauty of a mother’s love doesn’t only exist in quiet moments of care. It is revealed most profoundly when it is tested.

Consider the well-known story of King Solomon, who was faced with a difficult decision between two mothers claiming the same child. Unable to determine the truth by mere words, Solomon introduced a test—a moment designed to reveal which woman carried the heart of a mother.

He ordered that the child be divided into two, offering half to each.

The true mother’s response was immediate. Without hesitation, without calculation, without considering her own loss, she pleaded for the child to live—even if it meant giving him to the other woman. She would rather release him than see him harmed.

Solomon saw instantly what mattered. He knew that love—real, sacrificial love—always reveals itself in moments like this. Solomon wasn’t only identifying the child’s actual mother; he was witnessing the depth of love that chooses sacrifice over self-interest and values another’s well-being above personal desires. And so he declared, “Give the living child to the first woman. She is his mother.”

Today, take a moment to honor the mothers and mother figures who embody selfless love—not just in life’s big decisions but in the quiet, everyday sacrifices that shape the lives of those they cherish. May we also remember our heavenly mothers and mother figures, whose love and guidance continue to surround us, even from above.

And as you do so, remember these words: “She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”  Proverbs 3:15

This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
