This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Romans 12:2 (KJV)
Today I am thinking about maintaining a spiritual perspective over a human one.
In Mark Chapter 8, Jesus is beginning to prepare his disciples for His imminent suffering. He tells them that He will undergo many terrible things such as being rejected by the leaders of the day, and that He will ultimately die, but will rise three days later.
Astonished by these words, Peter tells Jesus that He shouldn’t say these things. Jesus responds to Peter, saying, “Get away from me Satan. You are seeing things from merely a human point of view and not from God’s.”
This passage really comes to me at the right time. Lately I’ve been talking about being in a waiting period. It is during these times that a human perspective can really seem to take over. Sometimes that voice can chime in and try to convince me that – “I’m silly to keep waiting…that things are so unfair…that things are happening to me and not for me, etc.”
I’ve taken away one key observation about the timing of these thoughts — they influence my reasoning most when I am less connected to God. It’s when I’ve let the daily grind of life prevent me from renewing my mind and spirit in God that I am most impacted by this mindset.
Here are the words that I always turn to when I find myself in this place – “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2 (KJV)
Please share this reflection with others as they also desire to be inspired.
So today, take a break from that daily grind and renew yourself in Christ Jesus.

This is so true. It’s that daily grind that keeps us from seeing things from a spiritual perspective. It’s important to take time to renew our minds and spirits.
