This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Happy Valentine’s Day, B Moment listeners!
Love has been in the air all week, and it is especially in the air today. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to increase your spiritual bank account by extending random acts of kindness beyond your inner circle. We can all relate to the rewarding feeling of making actual deposits into our checking or savings account, but making little deposits of love and kindness can feel just as rewarding, but on a completely different level.
Our spiritual bank account, as I call it, tallies all of the sacrifices we make for loved ones, our anonymous giving, and the selfless acts in general that we offer to others. With our spiritual bank account, we aren’t able to see our account balance in the same way we’re able to readily access the balance in our checking or savings account.
However, the Scriptures teach us that God knows our balance. He knew when you were still in your mother’s womb, He knows when you sit and when you stand, and He even knows the number of hairs on your head. Surely He knows each time you make a deposit in the life of another.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I think about the time when Abraham’s servant approached Rebekah for a drink of water. Not only did Rebekah make a trip to the well for him, but she made several more trips to provide water for his camels. With each trip, she was making another deposit. Rebekah’s selfless disposition led her from being a servant girl to a woman with many servants.
The same way that God responded to Rebekah’s goodness is the same way He will respond to yours, so always remember these words: “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over…” Luke 6:38 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, make a deposit.
