This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Today I am thinking about how I move out of a fog. Sometimes it can be a fog of confusion, or just a gray cloud looming over me. Sometimes I can succumb to this place and prolong my current state because I lack the right energy to change things. I do this most when I fear the unknown.
What I have discovered is a two-step process that is really beginning to work for me.
I’ve talked about step one before. It’s a sure-fire solution to move any kind of fog, cloud, or even that feeling of floating along without energy or certainty for what’s next.
This first step is gratitude.
It works like a charm every time. I start by giving thanks for the little things around me, and then my family, and my relationships. And then I take the next step.
The second step is a question, “What’s the lesson in this fog? What’s the lesson in this cloud that’s hovering over me?”
If you do the gratitude first and seek the lesson second, you will be amazed at what comes to you. This is working for me. It dissipates that fog in no time.
The Words that I use to keep me on track are simply, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Please share this reflection with others so that they also may be inspired.
And today, give thanks for the fog. When you give thanks, you will see the lesson.
