Scripture reference: Jeremiah 17:7-8

God has a way of speaking to us in the most unexpected, even quirky, ways. I must confess—He often communicates with me through available parking spots. Not just any spot, but the kind that seems downright impossible to find in the heart of Chicago. Yet, just when I’m ready to give up, one opens—far better than I could have imagined.
Recently, as I circled the block, I wondered if I should just go home. Maybe there was no parking available after all. But something in me said, “Don’t give up just yet—drive around one more time.” And at that very moment, as I reached the intersection, I saw someone getting into their car, making space for me. Here’s the part that blew me away – the parking spot was directly in front of where I was going. It was then that God revealed three profound truths:
- Keep pressing – When it seems like there’s no available parking, don’t give up. Keep moving toward your intended goal.
- Doubt less – Trust that even when things look impossible, God is shifting circumstances in ways you can’t yet see.
- God’s part – His blessing will always be better than you could ask or think. I would have settled for a parking spot two blocks away, but God was teaching me there’s never a reason to settle when I seek Him.
Had I gone home in frustration, I would have missed what God had in store—not just an open parking spot but a lesson about faith, perseverance, and divine timing. As I searched, God was rearranging things to make space for me, and He does the same in our lives.
So, whatever you’re waiting for—whatever feels out of reach—keep pressing forward. Don’t lose heart. God is already making room.
As you think about that, remember these words: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8
