This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today is a test. The question is, are you passing?
I thought about this question as I was recently studying in the book of Job. Job was a man of great character and wealth. He had ten children, 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, and many servants.
One day, Satan appeared before God after he had roamed the earth. God asked Satan if he had seen his servant Job. God described Job as a blameless and upright man.
However, Satan said that Job was only that way because God had blessed him with so much. Satan said that if God were to take it all away, Job will surely curse Him. So, the Lord told Satan that he could take all that Job possessed, except his life.
In the first chapter, Satan took Job’s property. What’s interesting about this passage is that the first messenger came up from the south to tell Job about the loss of his property. The Scriptures say that while this messenger was still speaking, another messenger arrived, this time from the north, to tell him about the tragic loss of his children.
Job was getting bad news from all directions and was surely being tested. The good news is that Job passed his test because he trusted God throughout. In turn, his lifestyle was returned to an even better state than before. The same can be true for you.
As you think about that, remember these words: “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life.” James 1:12 (ESV)
