This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Jeremiah 33:3 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about how we should spend time with God for direction.
Lately, I’ve been letting the frenetic pace of my day interfere with my time with God. I was just on the phone with a girlfriend the other day confessing that sometimes I go to bed exhausted and I wake up exhausted. I’ve got to do away with that by connecting with God in a deeper, meaningful way.
I’ve also been searching for direction on how to handle a certain situation, but as soon as I made the time to sit down and get in the presence of God, my next move was immediately revealed. It reminded me of how Daniel lived his life.
Daniel made time every day to be with God. In fact, he dedicated a certain spot and time of day to praying, meditating, and simply dwelling in the presence of God.
I used to make a point to do that, but I recently got out of the habit. Now, I find myself searching more than I should be. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of making time for God.
Daniel teaches us that talking with God in the same place at the same time every day means that we have a better chance of making it happen. So today, I’ll ask you to join me in finding that special place and setting aside that special time of day.
While we remember to make time to talk to God, let us cling to these words: “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Jeremiah 33:3 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, pick a place and time that will be just for God.
