Scripture reference: Exodus 15:2
Transcription:
This Palm Sunday, we reflect on two perspectives of power, each offering profound reasons to feel hopeful.
The first perspective centers on power over the world. Standing before Jesus, Pilate attempted to assert his authority, proclaiming he held the power to either release or crucify Him. Jesus calmly replied, “You have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above…” (John 19:11)
Here, we see the ultimate truth: our destinies rest solely in the hands of God, not man.
If truly lived out, this knowledge can transform how we view the challenges and uncertainties in our lives. Yet, as humans, it’s often easier to say these words than to fully trust and live them. Pilate was also blinded by worldly power, fearing his status with Caesar more than recognizing the divine authority that stood before him.
The second perspective shifts inward—to the power of Christ within us. No matter how you critique yourself for perceived weaknesses, scripture reminds you, “…God’s grace is sufficient for you…His power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor. 12:9-10). Let this truth settle deeply within you: the Lord is your strength and your salvation. As Psalm 27:1 says, “Whom shall I fear?” With Christ’s power residing in you, every weakness becomes an opportunity for His perfect strength to shine through.
As you think about that, hold onto these words: “The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation…I will praise him…and I will exalt him.” Exodus 15:2
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
