This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to see the power in taking small steps.
Recently we talked about how we can welcome in the new when we unclutter. We also acknowledged that clutter can take on many forms. While we’re uncluttering our closets or our desks, we may explore uncluttering our hearts and minds too.
However, sometimes uncluttering can feel like a daunting task. Over the years I have come to really appreciate what is possible when I take a smaller step toward a larger goal. Nowadays if I find myself in a rut and am desperate to get out, I start small. Sometimes shifting to a new path only requires a pivot and not a giant leap.
This was exactly the type of decision David was faced with when his men brought him a drink offering. One day, David expressed to three of his mightiest warriors that he was longing for a drink from the well in Bethlehem. Yet when David learned that his men had risked their lives to get the water for him, he made the small act of pouring it all out on the ground.
In this moment, he made a small decision to forego his flesh and to offer the precious water as an offering to God. David’s small decision led him to setting a great example for his men and ultimately going deeper with God.
What small choice will you make today? As you think about that, remember this timeless verse: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
