This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Psalm 46:10 (ESV)

Today I am reminding you of those times when they promised to call back and didn’t.
We’re wrapping up our series on control. Recently, we talked about losing control over our temperament when someone rubs us the wrong way, or those times when we lose control over our tongue because we just had to have the last word.
Another aspect of control is when we have no control. One example of this is when you’re waiting on someone to call you back. Maybe you applied for a job, and you’re waiting to hear back. I can recall countless business leads who never returned my calls.
I used to become so discouraged by this. Yet what I have come to appreciate over the years is that it wasn’t God’s will or timing for these calls to be returned. I no longer feel distraught and see time just randomly passing by.
Consider the 400 year time span between the Old and New Testaments. In those 400 years, one might think that time was just randomly passing by. Yet God’s will and timing were very much at work. By the time Jesus was born, there was a common language and a network of roads in place so the Gospel could be taught and spread.
Have you been fretting over not having control over someone responding to you? If so, know that God’s will and timing are perfect. As you remember that, hold onto these few words: ‘Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
