Thinking that sometimes, those “weeds” can teach us something about ourselves we need to learn, if only we would see these folks for who they truly are (also children of God). Perhaps our annoyance is less about them, and more about their ability to hold a mirror up to some unexplored, or discarded aspect of ourselves that we have not been willing to work on. The ‘weeds’ in our lives can be powerful teachers if we look beyond the surface behaviors that annoy us to the the real question, “why am I being annoyed by this person? What shadow aspect of me is being surfaced by this person and is crying out for healing?” And by healing that broken part of ourselves, the “weed” can blossom into friend, a brother or sister whom we can love as God intends for us to love all His creation. So with that in mind – I will celebrate and bless the weeds in my world today 🙂 … thank you for the reminder, and thank you for being among the finest wheat in my field of friends!
