This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to give a supernatural response when it makes the least sense.
Recently we’ve been talking about navigating through challenging and uncertain times. We talked about seeking God for GPS-like directions, meaning direction at each step. Despite what we see in our lives day to day, we should know that God always has something greater at work.
This reminds me of a passage I read once in a devotional called Jesus Calling. The point of the devotional was that when things seem to be going wrong, we should trust God. When things seem out of control, we should thank God. Responding in a supernatural way can lift us above our circumstances.
This is exactly what Jeremiah did. When the Israelites were exiled to Babylon, they were considered refugees, and things were very much out of control for them. However, in this chaos, Jeremiah trusted God’s word and purchased a piece of land that he knew would fall into the hands of the Babylonians.
Jeremiah wanted to show the Israelites just how much he believed in God’s word during the chaos and before God’s promises were fulfilled. His response was a supernatural one.
In the midst of challenging times, let us always remember a supernatural response first. As you do that, remember these words: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
