This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Proverbs 13:20 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about the need to revisit our social circle as we embark upon a new year.
Recently, I’ve been talking about the things we need to be mindful of when we’re about to birth something great. One of those things may involve revisiting your social circle. When you have a great assignment, it’s important to be in relationship with like minded people.
This was clearly the case when Mary was pregnant with Jesus and Elizabeth was carrying John the baptist. One day, Mary visited Elizabeth and they began to talk about the miracles of God. I envision two ladies sitting at the kitchen table having a good old worship session.
The Scripture also says that Mary stayed with Elizabeth for the next three months. Mary understood the importance of revisiting her social circle and deepening her relationship with another like minded person. This even entailed her leaving Joseph temporarily so that she could accomplish the greater calling on her life.
When you are embarking upon a greater assignment, you do what is necessary. Therefore, what great venture or assignment are you embarking on in 2018 that will require you to revisit your social circle and to be in relationship with more like minded people? Who within your social circle will support your endurance?
As you give all of that some thought, recall these words: “Whoever walks with the wise become wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Proverbs 13:20 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, commit to starting 2018 strong by revisiting your social circle.
