Scripture reference: Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Transcription:
Today’s message reminds me of the time my car broke down in the middle of the parking lot at the grocery store. In a matter of moments, a man appeared on the scene to give me a jump. I got out of my car to thank him and said, “Only God sent you my way so quickly!”
A woman standing nearby said a few words I’ll never forget. She said, “You’re right. God probably sent him to you, so take that frantic look off your face.” As a follower of Christ, even when you’re going through something, you’re not supposed to look like it.” Then she smiled and politely walked off.
In her own way, she was saying to rise above the issues of your day.
When I turn to the Scriptures, this is precisely how Cornelius lived. As a Gentile, he was treated harshly by the Jews regularly, yet he remained a devout man of God who also gave generously to the poor.
As you transcend your issues today, remember these words: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

So today, rise above.
