Scripture reference: Hebrews 12:1

We often intend to run the race that God has set before us, but a lack of direction and fears of inadequacy can trip us up along the way.
Years ago, my therapist gave me advice that I never forgot. During one of our sessions, I had a “what if” meltdown – “What if this happens, and what if that doesn’t happen?” I was in such a “what if” frenzy that my fears had me projecting things even into the following year. She rested her forearms on her thighs, removed her glasses, leaned in, and said – “Suzette, you’re too far out. Do you know everything God can do in your life between now and next year? From now on, no longer project your “what ifs” beyond 90 days.” Her words that day put things in a much better perspective for me.
You, my friend, have a unique race to run. Here are three insights to help you stay on course:
- Turn on your GPS – In the spiritual realm, GPS means God is Positioning you for His Service: There is no higher form of success than when you work for God. This is where faith, purpose, and true fulfillment meet. Ironically, your GPS is driven by your intimacy with Christ. The closer you stay to Him, the more clarity, direction, and wisdom you will hear Him reveal to you. As John 15:5 reminds us, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit…” Trust in His guidance and let Him lead you to your divine purpose.
- Travel light – Don’t worry about having enough for the future when you haven’t reached the present milestone. This fear can stall your progress. God provides what you need when you need it. Focus on the current leg of your journey with faith, knowing that God will provide for the next. Worrying about tomorrow only weighs you down. As Matthew 6:34 says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…”
- Keep pressing – Don’t lose hope; stay your course. God reveals things to you while you’re in action…while you are running your race. When God crosses you over the line into your new season, His reward will be more than you could ask or think. Ephesians 3:20 assures us, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more…according to his power that is at work within us.” Keep pressing forward, knowing that God’s plans for you are more significant than you can imagine.
Run your race with faith, trust, and perseverance. God is with you every step of the way.
As you reflect on that, remember these words – “…let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
