This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today, I am reminded that trust is more important than understanding.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of understanding. As you’ve heard me share often, I find it disturbing that our country is so divided. This is why I think that understanding is so important and that we should seek to understand rather than to be understood.
What I’m appreciating even more now though, is that understanding is less relevant when it comes to God. Sometimes I find myself in a quandary trying to figure out God’s next move for my life. Yet what matters most to God is not understanding Him but rather trusting in Him. When we can trust Him, especially when we don’t understand something, that is when we please Him most.
I recall reading that as close as the disciples were to Christ, they didn’t always understand what he was teaching them. This was especially true when he taught using parables. In other words, the disciples often didn’t know where God was leading them or why He was leading them to that specific place. Yet as Jesus points out in the Scriptures, “My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me.”
The disciples may have lacked understanding, but they compensated with a willingness to trust Jesus. Is there an area in your life today that has a cloud of confusion hovering over it? If so, hold onto these words: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, remember: trusting far outweighs understanding.
