This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to know that your life’s purpose and service go hand in hand.
We’re wrapping up our four-part series on how we move from self-doubt to clarity about our life’s purpose. Today, we’re discussing part four, which is all about service.
As I look at my own life, there were periods where I wanted to be served more than I wanted to be of service. Yet as I matured spiritually, I began to appreciate the genuine fulfillment that comes when I am helping to meet the needs of another.
Years ago, my dear friend Bill said to me, “Suzette, the only real thing we leave future generations is our example.” Reflecting on his words prompted me to write my personal mission statement. I was inspired to do so because I would often talk about serving but would have little to show for it. A mission statement would keep me on track.
My first step was to identify a Bible verse that I thought was relevant to my mission. I chose Acts 20:24, which says, “But my life is worth nothing unless I use it to do the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the good news of God’s kindness and love.”
My second step was to realize that my mission statement didn’t have to be etched in stone. I could tweak it from time to time.
My third step was asking myself the following questions: In what way will I serve? Whom will I serve? What value will my service offer?
