This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Psalm 77:11 (NIV)
Today, I am asking myself the question – “What shall we do in between God’s Miracles?” I think the short answer is that we must remember. We must recall the wonderful ways that God has blessed us and answered our prayers in the past as a basis for faith in the present.
Recently, I talked about how God turned the Israelites panic into praise. Just when they thought they were trapped between the wilderness and the Red Sea, God instructed Moses to hold his staff over the waters and a path opened up for them to walk through on dry ground.
Although, as soon as they reached the new land, they began to panic about what they would eat and drink. Some even said they’d rather be back in Egypt because at least as slaves they were assured food and drink.
In that instant, the Israelites needed to remember — remember that the same God who led them out of bondage is the same God who would provide for them in the new Promised Land.
Sometimes we have to remember the past to fuel our faith in the present.
The words that I will use to remind myself are – “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.” Psalm 77:11 (NIV)
Share this reflection because others desire to be inspired.
So today, recall one of those situations from your past when you knew only God pulled you through, and let that be the basis for your faith today.
