This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today, I am not in the studio, but I am thinking about how there is always something greater at work with God.
Recently, we talked about navigating through challenging times. We said that we need to seek God for GPS-like directions, meaning direction at every step, and that we should never become so overwhelmed that we don’t start our day with prayer.
What I’m also beginning to understand and appreciate more and more is that despite what I can see in my day to day life, God always has something greater at work. This was surely the case with Stephen from the book of Acts.
Stephen stood before these Jewish leaders and gave a pretty lengthy address about the presence and glory of God dating all the way back to the days of Abraham and Moses. But as he began to speak more truth to power and tell these leaders how they rejected the Messiah, they chose to stone him to death.
Word spread of Stephen’s murder and many Christian believers fled Jerusalem, fearing for their own lives. Initially, they were frightened and could see no good in Stephen’s death.
However, as these believers disseminated around the world, they also began to spread the gospel. In other words, the gospel was able to reach corners of the globe that it likely would not have if this tragic sequence of events had not occurred.
Through Stephen’s story, we see that God always has something greater at work. The key is to keep the faith, even when we can’t see his greater plan. As you personalize today’s message, hold onto these words: “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, know something greater is happening.
