Scripture reference: Psalm 37:4 (ESV)

Transcription:

Today, I want you to stay true to your heart’s desire.

I have two girlfriends who are single. One girlfriend is quite content with being single. For her, life is good.

My other single girlfriend is not as content with her reality; she truly does want to remarry. In fact, we were talking the other day, and she asked me why God wouldn’t just remove that yearning from her heart if He isn’t going to bless her with a husband.

It was then that I reminded her of Hannah, whose heart ached for a child year after year.  Yet even after this, Hannah never asked God to remove her desire to have a child. Instead, she drew even closer to God.

Ultimately, Hannah was blessed with five children, not just one. It would have been a mistake for her to ask God to remove her desire.

As you reflect on that, remember these words: “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 (ESV)
