This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am out of the studio, but it is the first day of Lent, and I am encouraging us to give Christ all our stuff.
It seems as though for the last couple weeks, I have been less patient, more anxious, and maybe even a little less thoughtful. Sometimes we get those periods in life when it feels like everything is going on all at once.
However, the first day of Lent is when I hit the reset button. It is my time to unplug from all the chaos and to replug into my source, who is Christ. I picture myself burying my head in his loving arms and giving him all of my stuff. When I think about transcending the worries of my day, I think about the story of Martha and Mary.
Shortly after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, Mary and Martha threw a huge celebration dinner for Jesus. During the party, Martha spent her time running around worrying about whether or not everything was perfect for Jesus. Meanwhile, Mary was found at Jesus’ feet, breathing in, listening to, and soaking up every word that came out of his mouth.
Eventually, Martha complained to Jesus, asking him whether it seemed fair that Mary spent her time sitting while Martha spent her time buzzing around, trying to perfect things. However, Jesus told Martha that there was only one thing worth being concerned about and that was something that Mary had already discovered.
