Scripture reference: John 12:46
Transcription:
Just before Jesus healed a man who had been blind since birth, his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents?” Jesus answered – “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins…This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.” John 9:3
This man’s blindness was necessary because it served a higher purpose.
In the same way, we may ask God to remove the difficulties in our lives, yet instead of taking them away, they become the canvas on which God’s divine power and mercy can be seen.
Even Jesus wrestled with the weight of His mission, asking, “Father, save me from this hour? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.” (John 12:27). It was necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up, so the path to salvation could be illuminated for us all.
Let us rejoice this Easter Sunday! The necessary price has been paid, and Christ invites us to walk in the light.
As you profess in your heart today – ‘Christ is Risen,’ hold onto these words: “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” John 12:46
