This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am reminding us about the importance of our daily prayer time.
Lately I’ve had a wave of work and family events coming before me. To put it mildly, it’s been a stressful time. Typically, I’m an early riser, but this wave of work coupled with stress is causing me to have late nights, which makes it very difficult to rise early.
Instead of rising early to be with God, I’ve been sleeping in as long as I can. When this happens, it throws me off my daily routine. This means I’ve been missing my morning worship time, which is the time I dedicate to my prayers and studying the Scriptures.
What I’ve noticed is that this has been impacting my spirit in several ways. I’m less tolerant, I’m more impatient, and I’ve even been experiencing some anxiety.
I once heard a pastor say that there are 3 A’s associated with the power of prayer. The first A is that prayer gives you the authority over the voices in this world. The second A gives you an assurance of your plan and purpose. The third A gives you an anointing required to make a difference.
I have been missing my prayer time, and I am noticing a difference in these areas. If you are like me—feeling stressed and overwhelmed—or just not making the time to start your morning in the right way, savor these few words:
“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (ESV)
