This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am encouraging you when you feel you’ve been thrown for a loop.
Feeling thrown for a loop is all about missed expectations. Maybe you feel this way this holiday season.
I recall talking about my two single girlfriends last year. While one girlfriend was quite content with being single, the other one was unhappy and wished to remarry.
Sometimes, when God doesn’t show up in the way we expected we can be inclined to simply give up. This can especially be the case when we feel like we’ve been thrown for a loop.
I wonder if this is how Joseph felt when he was in prison. He believed that God was going to work in one specific way, but then He didn’t.
Joseph met the cupbearer while in prison and ended up doing a favor for him: he interpreted the cupbearer’s dream. Joseph’s only request was to remember him once the cupbearer was released and to ask Pharoah to release him.
However, once the cupbearer got out of jail, he forgot all about Joseph. In that moment, Joseph must have felt that he had been thrown for a loop. What Joseph teaches us is not to grow weary as he kept his heart, spirit, and mind all in the right place.
As we know, in God’s perfect time Joseph would go from the prison cell to the palace. As for my girlfriend, she will be hearing wedding bells in 2021.
The next time you feel like you’ve been thrown for a loop, remember these words: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary…” Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
