This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Today I am feeling like I need to trust God – even if I look silly doing so.
Recently I was talking about waiting for a phone to ring in the context of looking for the next door to open. While some may conclude that I’ve been waiting on God to deliver certain promises for some time, I have decided not to confine my energy to a phone call, but rather to trust in God’s overall plan for my life even if I look silly to others for doing so.
I think our ability to demonstrate an unwavering faith becomes most challenging when our circumstances no longer make sense to us or even to those closest to us, yet we still choose to cling to an unforeseen promise.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I look to Noah. I’m sure Noah must have looked silly to many as he built the ark. At times, I’m sure there were no clouds in the sky or threatening rising waters to justify his building efforts yet Noah remained true to the task that God had called him to do, silly looking or not.
Noah chose to look silly in the moment, so that he would be known as a faithful servant of God in the long term.
The Words that I will use to help me not throw in the towel are, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Please share this reflection with others as they also desire to be inspired.
So today, cling to God’s promises. Even if you look silly in the moment, you won’t in the long run.
