This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am encouraging you to trust God in His silence.
Recently, we talked about Lazarus. Recall that before Jesus restored Lazarus’ life, he was silent. It is during God’s silence when you can feel overlooked and forgotten about. You might even reason that given the current state of the world, He has so many more priorities than your prayers.
Sometimes, God’s silence can cause your faith to wane. You may even wonder if all of your efforts are in vain.
If these are your feelings, I can relate to each one of them. What I have come to learn is two things. One: God is usually silent before He moves in a miraculous and unforeseen way, such as in the case of Lazarus. No one could have foreseen that Lazarus would have been raised from the dead.
The second thing I have learned is that God wants you to trust Him in His silence. When you can strengthen your faith while God is silent, you will understand who He is even more.
This is precisely what happened to Mary and Martha, Lazarus’ two sisters. When Lazarus became very ill, his two sisters sent for Jesus, but he remained silent. Initially Mary and Martha knew Jesus only as a teacher and a healer. Yet after losing their brother but still trusting Jesus in his silence, they would come to know him as the life and the resurrection when their brother’s life was restored.
Is there an opportunity for you to trust God more in His silence? If so, remember these words: “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” Psalm 37:5 (ESV)
