B Moment, trust

B Moment, waiting

This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Scripture reference: Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)

Today, I am thinking about waiting on God–even when you think it’s too late.

One day Jesus was out among the people and was approached by one of the synagogue leaders, Jairus. He told Jesus that his daughter was dying and begged Jesus to quickly go to the house to save the young girl.

However, when Jesus walked among the people, there was always a large crowd. So as he was trying to make his way back to Jairus’ home, messengers arrived to tell them not to bother going to the house. The young girl was already dead.

Personally, when I believe Jesus hasn’t responded to one of my prayers quickly enough, my response is either to despair or, quite honestly, to react with a hint of attitude. Sometimes I feel that even though I waited on God like He tells us to, it ends up being too late.

It is interesting though, that in Mark 5:36, it says that Jesus ignored the comments of these messengers and instead turned to Jairus, asking him to trust him and to not be afraid.

So the next time we feel despair, or even have a hint of attitude because we think God is late in answering our prayers, let us cling to these words: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.” Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)

Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.

So today, let’s hear the same words that Jesus said to Jairus: “Don’t be afraid; just trust me.”
