Scripture reference: Luke 5:16

The ESV version of Mark 1:35 reads, “And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.” This short passage holds four powerful verbs: rising, departed, went, and prayed.
Jesus was intentional about His time with God, ensuring it was unhurried. A clear sign of hurried time with God is when we do all the talking without making time to dwell in His presence and listen. We might find ourselves only thanking or petitioning God, but there is so much more to be gained from a genuine, unhurried time with Him.
From Jesus’ example, we see three profound results of spending unhurried time with His Father:
- Direction and Clarity: Jesus gained clear direction and clarity from His Father, enabling Him to teach and lead with authority.
- Fuel for Long Days: His early morning worship time fueled His long days, empowering Him to not only teach about love and compassion but to demonstrate it.
- Heart Alignment: Listening to God helped Jesus align His heart with His Father’s desires.
This New Year’s Eve, commit to going deeper with God. As you invest in unhurried time with Him, you’ll find yourself going higher than you ever imagined. Let 2025 be marked by intentional, unhurried moments in His presence.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” Luke 5:16
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
