Scripture reference: Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
Transcription:
Have you ever envisioned God responding one way, then He responds in another?
When I turn to the Scriptures, I see that John the Baptist had a similar experience. He envisioned that the Messiah who was coming would “drop the mic” on evildoers and the Roman government. When that didn’t happen, John sent two messengers to Christ to ask, “Are you the one? Or shall we keep looking for another?”
Here’s how Jesus responded: “The blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, and the good news is being preached to the poor.” He finally tells them, “Blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”
God’s response to your difficult season may not always align with how you pictured Him responding. When this happens, don’t become confused or doubtful. Instead, step forward in blind faith that He has you and your difficult season, and His solution is better than anything you could have envisioned.
As you think about that, remember these words: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
