Scripture reference: 2 Corinthians 5:17
Transcription:
In the parable of the Prodigal Son, the younger son chooses a path of reckless living, which leads him to squander his inheritance. Out of desperation to keep from starving, he becomes a pig farmer in a foreign land. The parable reads, “But when he came to himself,” he decides to return home. This marks a profound personal moment of truth.
The reader witnesses the son acting out his moment of truth, saying, “I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.'” During his journey home, his father sees him from a long distance away and runs to embrace and kiss him. Remarkably, this embrace happens before the son even speaks his confession.
The Father’s joy and acceptance reveal a powerful truth: God knows when our hearts change, and He responds with infinite love to our change.
As you travel on your divine path with purpose and intention, keep in mind that it’s good to have an intimate moment of truth from time to time. Change starts in your heart, and God knows the moment you have a genuine change of heart. So, embrace your moments of truth, knowing God’s love is steadfast and transformative.
As you think about that, remember these words: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
