This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to know that you will experience victory, even under these conditions.
Today is Cinco de Mayo, which is typically a very festive day that marks the Mexican army’s unlikely victory against the French. However, last week’s jobless claims rose to over 30 million, so many people may not be in such a festive mood.
I see another reason, though, to remember this day—a spiritual one. The Mexican army’s victory was so unlikely because they were such a smaller power than the French.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I think about the time when Jesus healed the blind man, and the disciples asked if the man’s blindness was due to his sins or the sins of his parents. Jesus told them that the man was blind so that the power of God could be seen in him.
I used to think that I needed my circumstances to change before victory was even possible. I would constantly pray to God to change my circumstances. On one occasion in particular, I sensed that He was telling me, “This is it; you will reach your place of triumph under these conditions.”
The same is true for you. God will showcase His power through you, and He will give you victory while 30 million are unemployed and the economy is steadily contracting. Victories born out of imperfect conditions are the ones that really propel us to the next level.
As you think about that, remember these words: “For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight…to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4 (NIV)
