This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Isaiah 55:08 (NLT)
Today, I am thinking about how our circumstances don’t need to change to have a great victory.
I had this thought because today, many will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, which is the commemoration of the Mexican army’s unlikely victory against the French. I call it the classic case of the smaller power defeating the greater power.
Looking to the Scriptures, I recently talked about how when Jesus healed a blind man, his disciples asked if the man’s blindness was due to his sins or the sins of his parents. Yet, Jesus responded that the man was blind so that the power of God could be seen in him.
The same is sometimes true with us, too. Our imperfections and chaotic conditions and the ability of a smaller power to ultimately defeat a greater power, all join together in showcasing the power of God’s work and revealing His hand in our lives.
The key is to make the battle the Lord’s. When we do this, the outcome is almost certain.
Therefore, the next time we’re struggling to see how we can triumph in a certain situation because nothing seems to be working and the odds seem insurmountable, let us cling to these words: “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts…and my ways are far beyond anything you can imagine.” Isaiah 55:08 (NLT)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today on Cinco de Mayo, give your battle to the Lord, knowing that victory is on the way.
